Introduction
Custom reports allow you to extract data from Mi Project. You can generate reports on all project KPIs and commitments.
How To Generate Custom Report
The custom report tool also allows you to filter data based on your requirements.
To generate a custom report, follow the step below:
-
Go to the Reporting Landing Page.
-
Click on the ‘Custom Reports’ tab.
-
Once on this tab, you can create a new custom report by clicking on the ‘New Custom Report’ button.
-
Once on the report builder page, you will need to complete all the relevant fields.
-
Title – This is the title of the report. It will appear at the top of the report on Mi Project. It will also be the title of the report in your saved reports, should you choose to save it.
-
Description – This should be a short description to remind yourself of what the report contents are.
-
Add Commitments – This is where you tell the system which commitments / KPIs you would like to report on. To add a new commitment, simply select it from the drop down list and press ‘+’.
-
Add Filters – This allows you to filter the data that is returned in your reports. The available filters include:
-
Date Range - This will return data based on the project order date.
-
Region Sector - This will return data on the projects within your selected sector.
-
Framework - This will return projects that are managed through your selected framework.
-
Client - This will return projects for your selected client.
-
Project Phase - This will return projects within your specified phase.
-
Managing LCO - This will return projects managed by your selected LCO.
-
Project Value - This will return projects between your minimum and maximum values (specified on the report).
-
-
Additional options:
-
-
Show commitment fields - If you want to see the commitment data, as well as the commitments score, then please check this option.
-
Show contractual data - If you tick this option you will only see data for reportable KPIs (based on completion dates). If you do not select this, you will extract data for all commitments / KPIs.
-
Once you have filled in all options, press ‘Generate report’.
-
Custom Report Output
Once you have generated your report, you will be presented with a table of data.
If the data shows:
N/A – means that the KPI/commitment is not yet contractually reportable
No data – means that the KPI/commitment is reportable, but no data has been submitted by the project lead.
Saving Your Custom Report
There are two ways to save your custom report:
Save as a csv: this allows you to extract the data into a .csv file for use in other programmes (such as Excel).
Save Custom Report: this allows you to save your report within Mi Project so that you can use it at a later date.
